Emulex Participates in the Ethernet Alliance Plugfest Showcasing End-to-End Data Center Bridging Network
Industry Interoperability Enables Convergence into a Single, Enhanced Lossless Ethernet Network
COSTA MESA, Calif., November 9, 2011 - Emulex Corporation (NYSE:ELX) today announced its recent participation in the Ethernet Alliance Data Center Bridging (DCB) Interoperability Test Event with its OneConnect™ Universal Converged Network (UCNA) Adapters. The Ethernet Alliance plugfest was held October 17-21 at the University of New Hampshire InterOperability Lab (UNH-IOL), and included test, server and storage infrastructure solutions providers, cabling and Ethernet switch vendors, and semiconductor manufacturers.
During the plugfest, Emulex and other participating vendors successfully tested Data Center Bridging Exchange (DCBX), creating an end-to-end DCB network, which used Emulex OneConnect iSCSI and Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) UCNAs.
Data center operators and large enterprises are managing an unprecedented amount of new applications and data that require reliable network performance and multiple network fabrics within their infrastructures. DCB-enabled products allow for convergence of multiple network fabrics into a single, enhanced lossless Ethernet network, and make it possible for enterprises to expand their services to support a variety of current and future data center applications and evolving storage protocols.
