Emulex Interop Keynote Connects Cloud to Convergence
Company Demonstrates Network Optimization Software
Interop - NEW YORK, October 18, 2010 - Emulex Corporation (NYSE:ELX) today announced that it will be presenting a keynote session on cloud infrastructure this week at Interop, in addition to sessions on 10Gb/s Ethernet and participation in a panel on network convergence. Emulex will also be demonstrating convergence enabling software in its booth #443 at Interop New York 2010, October 18-21.
Emulex executives will be presenting on three topics related to network convergence at Interop, including the following:
- "Constructing the Cloud: One Lego® at a Time" (keynote session), October 21, 9:30 - 9:50 a.m. This session will focus on the new cloud infrastructure and how its deployed one container Lego at a time. Emulex's CTO, Dave Crespi, will explain how these Legos will come together to make world-class data centers.
- "10 Steps for Deploying 10GbE" (concurrent session), October 21, 1:00 - 1:45 p.m. Shaun Walsh, Emulex vice president of corporate marketing, will present the most pragmatic ways to consider deploying 10GbE today, prepare for network convergence tomorrow, and build a plan for moving 10GbE into your mainstream operations.
- "How Data Center Managers Should Plan for Convergence," (panel) October 21, 2:00 - 3:00 pm. This panel, moderated by Doug Washburn, Analyst Infrastructure & Operations, Forrester Research, will include Shaun Walsh, Emulex vice president of corporate marketing, John Sabasteanski, distinguished engineer, Systems Architecture and Strategy Unit, Cisco Systems, Inc.; Bowman Hall, director, Cloud Computing Client Engagements, Business Manager, IBM; and Ken Oestreich, vice president of marketing, Egenera Inc.
In addition to these presentations, Emulex will have multiple product demonstrations at their booth, #443, including:
- Emulex's recently introduced OneCommand™ Vision software, an intelligent application designed for proactive management of I/O within physical, virtual and cloud data center environments that allows IT administrators to monitor I/O data paths and proactively configure data center resources to solve bandwidth and contention issues within their infrastructure.
- The upgradability of Emulex OneConnect Universal Converged Network Adapters (UCNAs), allowing end users to easily scale their infrastructures with a base 10Gb/s Ethernet network adapter and field enablement options for iSCSI and FCoE hardware acceleration, providing investment protection and compelling cost saving benefits
