Award Recognises Superior Performance and Reliability of Emulex LightPulse HBAs
LONDON, June 19, 2008 - Emulex Corporation (NYSE:ELX) today announced that its LightPulse® Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapters (HBAs) were awarded the 2008 Connectivity Product of the Year Award by The Storage Awards - Storries VI. The Storage Awards recognise outstanding products and services in the storage industry by asking readers of Storage Magazine and the general public to vote for winners.
"This award reinforces the strength of Emulex's broad SAN connectivity product portfolio, which includes its latest 8Gb/s Fibre Channel products as well as solutions for blades," said Brian Wall, editor for Storage Magazine. "IT professionals throughout the UK voted for the winners of these awards and they chose to recognise Emulex LightPulse HBAs for the performance and reliability they deliver."
Emulex was presented with this prestigious accolade at the awards ceremony held on June 5, 2008 for the enterprise scalability, maximum SAN performance and superior quality and reliability of its LightPulse HBAs. Emulex HBAs draw from eight generations of advanced, field-proven technologies to deliver a distinctive set of benefits that are relied upon by the world's largest enterprises. Furthermore, unique features such as LightPulse Virtual HBA technology, firmware upgradeable architecture and a common driver model put it generations ahead of competing solutions.
"Being presented with this award is extremely gratifying," said Jason Phippen, director of marketing and alliances, EMEA, Emulex. "This award further illustrates the innovative nature of Emulex's products and its commitment to delivering best-in-class products to its customers."
