Emulex Launches New Reseller Program to Provide Enhanced Services and Support for its Expanding Network of Channel Partners

Program Delivers Unmatched Efficiency and Customized Features to Address Reseller Needs

COSTA MESA, Calif., October 10, 2007 - Emulex Corporation (NYSE:ELX) today announced its new reseller program designed to deliver customized programs with unmatched efficiency for its channel partners. The new Emulex Reseller Program also enables Emulex to expand its network of server and storage integrators, value-added resellers (VARs) and channel consultants that recommend and deploy storage area network (SAN) solutions.

"The Emulex Reseller Program is a key component of Emulex's growth and diversification strategy laid out last year and is aimed at strengthening the Company's core business and driving market share growth," said Mike Smith, executive vice president of worldwide marketing, Emulex Corporation. "This new program enables Emulex to more closely align the Company's sales and marketing activities with its channel and OEM partners."

Members of the new Emulex Reseller Program may receive exclusive benefits including market development funds, trade-in and demo product, as well as sales incentives - all designed to increase Emulex channel partners' profitability and growth. Resellers also have access to online deal registration application and tracking, which minimizes the time required to complete the sales process. In addition, member resellers have access to a number of powerful sales and training tools.

The Emulex Reseller Program is available to partners in North America, Europe, Middle East and Africa. Key components of the Emulex Reseller Program include:

  • Online Partner Resource Center: The resource center houses all the customized information resellers need to support the sales process, including technical tools, training materials, news updates and promotions - all in one location.
  • Reseller Program Portal: This web-based portal provides a single site to manage Emulex channel programs and expedite submissions and claims. The submission, claiming and tracking processes are all online, thus significantly reducing the amount of time resellers must spend administrating the program. Resellers gain back valuable time often spent managing the reseller program and can use that time for more profitable tasks, such as selling.
  • Program Tiers: Different resellers require various levels of support. The Emulex Reseller Program addresses these differences with three separate program tiers. Emulex will assign the reseller to one of three ascending tiers - Silver, Gold or Platinum. This assignment is based on the amount of Emulex products a reseller has sold, their current run rate, and their business plans surrounding the sale of Emulex products.

Distributors also have access to the program's Online Partner Resource Center, which includes the latest product information and sales and technical training materials.
