Emulex Broadens SAN Connectivity for HP Integrity Servers
HP has added three new Host Bus Adapters (HBAs) to their entry-class Integrity servers which complement the Emulex HBAs currently offered by HP. These new HBAs contain both Fibre Channel and Ethernet ports and expand the 4Gb/s Fibre Channel PCI Express SAN connectivity solutions across the family of entry-class Integrity servers. HP customers have Emulex solutions available for the Windows, Linux, HP-UX, and OpenVMS operating system environments.
This announcement strengthens the relationship of Emulex and HP's Business Critical Servers (BCS) division by providing the Emulex I/O Controller (IOC) 3532 for HP's single and dual-port Fibre Channel and Ethernet HBAs with Integrity entry-level servers running HP-UX 11iv3 while complementing the Emulex 4Gb/s Fibre Channel HBA solutions for Windows, Linux, and OpenVMS operating systems. Emulex's IOC technology provides Fibre Channel connectivity and meets the needs of multiple solution environments, ranging from blade servers to enterprise and midrange storage systems. The IOC 3532 architecture provides superior scalability, exceptional performance and integrated memory for enhanced reliability. Zephyr architecture features data integrity protection, a combination of parity, cyclic redundancy check (CRC), error-correcting code (ECC) and other advanced error checking methods, ensuring end-users a robust set of tools to protect their data.
Coupled with Emulex's best-in-class IOC technology, the single and dual port models of HBAs provide reliable, high-performance connectivity, high-availability, and scalability with HP Integrity rx2660, rx3600, and rx6600 family of servers running HP-UX 11i v3.
