Emulex Showcases Glimpse into the Next Generation Data Center with Fibre Channel over Ethernet and 8Gb/s Virtual HBA Technology Demonstration at Interop Las Vegas
Company to Address Storage and Networking in a Virtual World During Panel Session
WHAT:
Emulex Corporation (NYSE:ELX) is demonstrating the power of its new Fibre Channel over Ethernet-based (FCoE) converged network adapters (CNAs) running in a virtual server environment at Interop Las Vegas, held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. This demonstration leverages Emulex Virtual HBA Technology to showcase how virtual machine migration can take advantage of next generation network speeds and protocols. When combined with the inherent advantages and bandwidth of 8Gb/s Fibre Channel and 10Gb/s FCoE, Emulex products enable increased benefits of server virtualization and consolidation. By providing greater I/O capacity within the server, Emulex HBAs and CNAs deliver reduced data center complexity, management costs and power consumption.
Additionally, Mike Smith, executive vice president of worldwide marketing, Emulex, will be participating in a panel discussion on "Storage and Networking in a Virtual World." The session, held on Tuesday, April 29, from 11:30 - 12:30 p.m., and moderated by Anne Skamarock, Research Director for Focus Consulting, explores networking, storage and business continuity infrastructure issues and architectures that complement server and virtualization efforts in the data center.
