Streamline Management with Emulex
Oracle 11G database, middleware, clustering and software stack provides a robust management environment for today's SAN-attached Oracle-driven data centers.
- Oracle Automatic Storage Management (Oracle ASM) is both a file system and a volume manager that simplifies storage administrator tasks for a Oracle Database. I/O is spread evenly across all available disk drives and storage capacity can be added or removed without interrupting database operations. Oracle ASM also works across multiple nodes of an Oracle RAC cluster.
- Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN) is the standard backup and restore utility for a Oracle Database. Commands can be executed from the command line and with command scripts, or from a GUI that is integrated into Oracle Enterprise Manager. Recovery Manager determines the most efficient method of executing the command and works with Oracle Database to complete the backup or restore procedure.
IT organizations using Emulex adapters can be assured that all these Oracle Database features work effectively in an Emulex connected SAN and also take advantage of additional efficiency features using OneCommand Manager® for centralized, multi-protocol adapter management of Emulex LightPulse Fibre Channel adapters and OneConnect universal converged network adapter (UCNA).
