Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What does 'OCM' mean? - OneCommand Manager (formerly HBAnyware) is the Emulex management software application which supports both Fiber Channel HBA's and Universal CNAs.

  2. What code should I use? - The most recently qualified software which IBM supports the first entry in each of the OS sections. If a cell is blank for a particular row, then that code version is not yet supported on those part numbers. This site is intended to provide guidance for what code to use. Please contact IBM Support for absolute code/adapter/platform support best practices.

  3. I do not recognize the part numbers in the matrix, what's up? - The part numbers in the matrix correspond to the IBM Option part number. If you're looking for the IBM FRU or Assembly part number, that information is included in the 'Overview' tab at each link.

  4. Where can I find more information about the Virtual Fabric switches?
    1. BladeCenter Switches
    2. Top of Rack switches
  5. Where can I learn more about IBM branded Emulex products? - Check out the Emulex/IBM microsite.

  6. How do I know what SFP's and cables to use? Follow this link to the cable interop guide: Cable Interop Guide
