In order to use the flex address feature with the Emulex LPe1105-M4 blade server HBA, both the HBA firmware and HBA BIOS must be updated. At the time of this writing, June 2008, the latest code versions are: HBA BIOS (v3.03a3) and HBA firmware (v2.72a2). Check your HBA BIOS and firmware versions to verify the current levels installed. If your HBAs already have these code versions (or newer), than there is no need to upgrade your HBAs. After installing both the HBA firmware and HBA BIOS, you MUST power cycle the blade server - press the server power button to turn off/on.
