COSTA MESA, Calif., December 7, 2009- Emulex Corporation (NYSE:ELX) today announced that its Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) OneConnect™ Universal Converged Network Adapters (UCNAs) have been selected exclusively for use in Verari Systems' data center platforms and are now shipping with the Verari Systems FOREST Container solutions. All of Emulex's OneConnect UCNAs enable network convergence through support of full hardware protocol offload for Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), Internet Small Computer System Interface (iSCSI) and FCoE.
"Verari's data center platforms deliver cutting edge solutions that address the problems associated with growing energy, space and management costs," said Steve Daheb, chief marketing officer and senior vice president of business development, Emulex. "The fact that Emulex's OneConnect FCoE UCNA solution was chosen by Verari Systems for its data center platforms speaks to the unparalleled investment protection and I/O connectivity performance of the product's architecture. Together, Verari and Emulex are helping organizations maximize flexibility while cutting costs exponentially and boosting performance to new levels."
The Verari Systems FOREST Container is a modular, portable data center that is deployable virtually anywhere and operates efficiently and reliably under varied conditions, such as extreme temperatures and rough terrain. By deploying Emulex OneConnect FCoE UCNAs in its FOREST Containers, Verari further maximizes its compute density and I/O performance delivering a flexible, open, reliable, energy efficient, scalable and transportable solution that addresses the growing constraints of traditional brick-and-mortar data centers.
