Emulex Gains Share in Two of the Fastest Growing Fibre Channel Adapter Market Segments According to Dell'Oro Group

Dell'Oro Group Reports Emulex Has Gained Market Share Over its Nearest Competitor in Overall 8Gb/s Fibre Channel Adapter and Mezzanine Card Segments

COSTA MESA, Calif., May 13, 2009 - Emulex Corporation (NYSE:ELX) today announced that it has captured nearly four percentage points of revenue over its nearest competitor in the 8Gb/s Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapter (HBA) market and over five percentage points of revenue over its nearest competitor in the mezzanine card segment during the first quarter of 2010 according to the Dell'Oro Group's Q1 2010 Storage Area Network (SAN) report. The 8Gb/s Fibre Channel HBAs and mezzanine cards are two of the fastest growing market segments in 2010 according to the Dell'Oro Group's January 2010 SAN forecast report.

"Market share growth in these two segments of the market is both important and exciting because that is where the market is headed as we continue to see customers transition from 4Gb/s to 8Gb/s Fibre Channel and the blade server attach rate continues to grow," said Steve Daheb, chief marketing officer and senior vice president of business development, Emulex. "In addition, Emulex remains the market share leader in the next generation 10Gb/s Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) Converged Network Adapter (CNA) market according to Infonetics' latest market share report."
