COSTA MESA, Calif., December 17, 2009 - Emulex Corporation (NYSE:ELX) and Alacritech, Inc., jointly announced today that the two companies have entered into a licensing agreement giving Emulex access to Alacritech's patent portfolio, including support for Microsoft's Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) Chimney architecture for its OneConnect™ Universal Converged Network Adapters (UCNAs).

"Emulex continues to garner design wins for its OneConnect UCNAs," said Steve Daheb, chief marketing officer and senior vice president of business development, Emulex. "We are pleased to be working with Alacritech to provide TCP Chimney offload support for our customers using Windows-based servers."
