medical benefits

POS (Point-of-Service) and HMO (Health Maintenance Organization) choices are provided; all plans have a prescription drug benefit.

life insurance

A basic life and accidental death and dismemberment policy equal to two times base salary is paid for by the Company.

short term disability

For periods of short-term disability (less than 90 days), Emulex employees are ensured continued income provided eligibility requirements have been met.

long term disability

Emulex provides its employees with long-term disability insurance, which protects against the loss of regular income during long periods of disability.

flexible spending accounts

Emulex provides health care and dependent care reimbursement accounts allowing employees to set aside money on a pre-tax basis to cover eligible health care and dependent care expenses.

retirement savings plan—401(K)

Deferring of pre-tax compensation can begin on the first of the month following date of hire. A dollar for dollar match, up to a maximum of 4%, also begins the first of the month following date of hire.

employee stock purchase plan

The stock purchase plan provides employees an opportunity to become shareholders of Emulex. Eligibility for participation is 90 days employment at the beginning of the enrollment period. Shares are purchased at a discounted price.

education assistance

Emulex provides education assistance for full-time employees upon date of hire for pre-approved job or degree related classes. Reimbursement includes tuition and books.

paid time off

Emulex recognizes the value of time off for vacation, personal business, sick days, religious holidays or emergencies. PTO provides employees with the flexibility to manage their time off from work based on individual needs. Employees accrue hours on a pro-rated basis from the date of hire and are eligible to take PTO as hours are accrued.

During the first year, regular full-time employees accrue 18 days of (PTO). The accrual increases with completed years of service, up to a maximum accrual of 35 days per year.

holidays

Emulex observes ten Company-paid holidays per year. Employees are eligible on date of hire.
