Emulex is a world-leading provider of converged network solutions for the data center, and this year, it celebrates its 30th anniversary as a company.  As our company continues to invest in the Asia market and build our market presence, Emulex participated in the COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2010 expo, the biggest ICT industry purchase expo in Asia and the second biggest in the world.

As they recover from the financial crisis, businesses share a positive attitude toward the market’s prospects. Thanks to the improving atmosphere, the COMPUTEX TAIPEI expo, which also enjoys its 30th anniversary, attracted the largest number of exhibitors this year. The expo was held from June 1 to June 5, 2010. It attracted some 35,017 companies from 216 countries and more than 120,000 visitors from all over the world. This Expo attracted top companies from Japan, China, Hong Kong, Korea and southeast Asia.

This is the first time Emulex has joined the expo. The theme of its exhibition was One Company, One Network, Connect with Emulex, with highlights of the converged network solutions for the data center. The main exhibits included Light Pulse LPe12002 8Gb/s Fibre Channel PCI Express 2.0 Host Bus Adapters (HBAs) and the Emulex OneConnect Universal Converged Network Adapter (UCNA) family of adapters, which include OneConnect 10Gb Ethernet (10GbE) network adapters, OneConnect 10GbE Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) CNAs, and OneConnect 10GbE iSCSI adapters. Emulex demonstrated our product in our booth and in a series of interactive activities throughout the event. Our goal was to give the visitors a comprehensive view of the Emulex product portfolio. These products satisfy the growing needs of enterprises for cloud computing, data center virtualization, storage networking and data security.

he Emulex booth was decorated with bright colors and a streamlined design, which fostered a straightforward, but deep, impression to the visitors. To attract more visitors and promote the Emulex brand, the marketing team creatively hired knowledgeable and pleasant booth attendees to walk around in the expo with Emulex-branded balloons. This lively demonstration highlighted Emulex brand presence throughout the expo. As one of the leading brands of the world’s IT industry, Emulex adopted a friendly way to directly communicate with its customers from the Asian market, exchange information and expand customer interaction. In addition, Emulex also cooperated with other exhibitors with the aim to build relationships with other storage and networking manufacturers, such as Technology, Inc.、Accusys and Thecus. By closely cooperating with local businesses in our go-to-market efforts, we plan to generate solutions more suited for the local market needs.

Cloud computing, panel PCs, 3D applications and e-books became highlights of the five-day expo. With 1,715 exhibitors and 4,861 booths, the expo served as an arena for IT companies. Among the exhibitors, household names such as Microsoft、Intel、 Fujitsu、 Acer and Micro-star could be found. COMPUTEX TAIPEI is a grand event of the IT industry, attracting all of the leading brands from all over the world and demonstrating the advanced technologies and products. In a positive environment, the Asian market becomes a place of strategic importance to IT market players. Businesses need to contribute more resources and effort to win larger shares of this market. Emulex made its debut at COMPUTEX this year aiming to show the world its ambition to explore the Asian market, and we will be back next year to showcase our future platform and technologies.
